Rob Kall: You were in high school.
M.E. Thomas: The football player? I think in college.
Rob Kall: You were in high school right? Was it college? Okay.
M.E. Thomas: Yeah, teenager, I was definitely a teenager. And that is just, you know here's a football player, who for the most part, would, wouldn't give somebody like me the time of day, sort of. You know somebody who is, somebody who's kind of popular, more popular than I have ever been. And to a large extent, that was also trying too acquire influence, or at least to take back the influence that I felt I should have had originally. And that he had wrongfully obtained this influence, and had benefited from this influence this whole time.
So I don't, I don't know, it's not necessarily sadism to the point where I'm just like, any particular person will do. And all I want to do is just hurt them. It's all contextual, and it's not random, it's always in a response to what I perceive to be some power imbalance.
Rob Kall: But this guy was, was so, so basically, you you played with his head and really kind of messed with it because he was a really, a very popular guy and it didn't seem fair, and you were kind of showing that you could beat the system in a sense. Am I, am I reading that right?
M.E. Thomas: Yeah, beat the system. And this particular guy too, and I think that this is typical of teenage guys, I don't think that they're necessarily innocent either. A lot of teenage guys trying to, everybody, and especially teenagers in relationships it seems like, they're trying to get something. You know he obviously wanted something. He wanted whatever sort of, you know physical intimacy favors that he could...
