I retired in 2010 from teaching general elementary and high school special education in Indianapolis. I am interested in studying political theory, world history, and foreign policy.
Integrating the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita, Buddhism, Yoga Sutras, mindfulness meditation,Progressive Christianity, and veganism with socialism, I personally think of myself as a vegan spiritual socialist. I am not for revolutionary socialism if violence is used because I believe the use of violence would create violent repercussions.
We need to somehow, someway take all money out of politics and empower the 7 largest national political parties. Then for the first time we could have a democratic society.
The world, especially the United States, needs to give peace a chance. I am a socialist because I value economic production for the good of all, always with an internationalist and ecological perspective. I want to live in a carefully planned society and in an orderly world, built from the bottom-up, not the top-down,from the neighborhood block club, to the elementary school district, to the voting precinct level, to the township, to the county, state, national, and ultimately to the international level.
As a retired teacher, I also support completely autonomous neighborhood public elementary school districts to create town hall democracy and neighborhood togetherness. This has never been tried before.
Capitalism and U.S. imperialism are the biggest threats to world peace, and racism has been part of our nation's fabric from the very beginning up to the present.
I now believe that stopping U. S. imperialism is the most spiritual and ethical thing I can do. I do mindfulness meditation daily, walk every day, and do some yoga stretching. I am a vegan for ethical, ecological, and health reasons.
I grew up in the subculture of the United Pentecostal Church and remember going to church four times a week and fearing that I might go to Hell because I was told that I was not "saved" with the necessary evidence of "speaking in tongues." Every one in the church believed that the Rapture of the Church was imminent, and we should always be ready to meet our Maker.
My parents have always voted Republican. My deceased father believed that if JFK had become President, he would have compelled everyone to become a Roman Catholic. I am so glad that I started questioning authority when I entered college.
Who Wants to Abolish the CIA? Leftists and Rightists
This article tells about an ex-CIA member who has revealed in his book and various YouTube videos all the reasons why the CIA should be abolished, and surprisingly both leftists and rightists agree. After doing that, we have to somehow, some way take all money out of politics and empower at least 7 national political parties. Moreover, we can decentralize schools to create town hall democracy and neighborhood togetherness.

International Socialists Seeking the Divine Source Within
In America, especially in the Bible Belt, there is seemingly a church on every other block, where people get their social and spiritual needs met, where deep lasting friendships are formed, and where much of their financial resources are spent. Why aren't Socialist and Communist groups likewise attracting more people into their folds? We each have a longing to be part of a tribe where our deepest common dreams can be shared.

A Prayer to the Divine Source Within
I have always declined to pray at family meal times. I created this prayer as an alternative to the many prayers I've heard over the years to a personal God, who is separate and distinct from the universe, who allegedly answers prayers for personal needs and the healing of loved ones, if He chooses. Conversely, I believe that meditation can enable us to directly experience the transpersonal Love Source of all creation.

The Modern Distinction between Capitalism and Socialism
This article makes a distinction between capitalism, state capitalism, and socialism. The political economies stemming from the Russian and Chinese revolutions were not expressions of socialism. They were expressions of state capitalism.

World Betterment Begins with Workplace Democracy
Seven things are needed to create the betterment of the world: democracy in the workplace, public ownership of radio and television stations, neighborhood control of neighborhood schools, the empowerment of 7 political parties, the restructuring of state governments, a new national constitution and a democratic world government, and a spiritual paradigm shift through meditation to attain the next stage in our human evolution.

The Paradox and Mystery of Life
On a planetary level, in a dog-eat-dog world, individuals and nations compete for limited resources and goods because the more you get the more you have. If such individuals and nations are like cells and organs in a living body, this would be like having cancer.
However, in a world where all individuals and nations are considered part of the family, the more individuals and nations cooperate, share, and give--the more...

Integrating Karl Marx and Abraham Maslow
People are starting to wake up as they realize that capitalism is in its last stages, and it is collapsing. The traditional religions are no longer believed. Economic and political decision-making will always be necessary, but now it is urgent that it be a spiritual politics, in which the needs of everyone on the planet must be addressed.

Veganism: Why Doctors Don't Recommend It
In this article, I share my notes from four prominent vegan doctors who are interviewed in videos: John McDougall, Michael Greger, Neal Barnard, and Alan Goldhamer. Links are also provided to 3 popular documentaries that have converted many people to become vegetarian or vegan: "Forks over Knives," "Cowspiracy," and "Earthlings." Thus, a vegan, plant-based, starch diet is superior to a low-carb, much meat and dairy diet.

Protesters Can Shout, "Pass the Bill that Maximizes Democracy!"
Thousands of protesters in every major city can shout, "Pass the Bill that Maximizes Democracy!" Considering the current mindset of Republican and Democratic legislators, does this bill sound grandiose? Yes. But as millions of Americans hear about the bill, read it, and understand it, they will ignore any criticisms of it from the mainstream media, and they too will demand that the bill be passed.

What Has Happened to Ukraine in the Last 3 Years?
"When peaceful protests were not effective in unseating Yanukovych, the violence of the ultra-nationalist Svoboda party and Right Sector was embraced, if not supported by the west. "Understanding [neoconservative foreign policy expert Zbigniew] Brzeziniski's long term view of Ukraine makes it easier to comprehend why the US has given $5 billion to Ukraine since 1991...

Third Parties of the World, Unite! You Have Nothing to Lose But Your Chains!
Imagine how much more interesting the recent presidential-election debates would have been if they had included not just the Republican and Democratic parties, but the Libertarian Party, the Green Party, the Constitution Party, the Socialist Party, and the Communist Party. We could have a more informed citizenry if all the major parties could be represented. People could then actually vote their conscience.

Equally Empower the 7 Largest Political Parties
Everyone who is very displeased with both Trump and Clinton for different reasons should work together to take all money out of politics. We can give a voice to every political party that garners one percent of the voters, and in the final stages of any presidential and legislative election, we can equally empower the 7 largest national political parties in public televised debates. Outlaw all political advertisements on TV.

Capitalism, Imperialism, and the Lies of Western Culture
Living in Western culture, we have been lied to about the "humanitarian" intent of our foreign invasions, about capitalism, Christianity and other religions, psychiatry, marijuana, the food pyramid, and in many other ways. The lies are not just in what we have been told, but what we have not been told. The solution to our maladjusted culture is to remake society after we create a nonviolent spiritual and political revolution.

Cindy Sheehan Says Liberals Should Not Vote for Bernie Sanders
Cindy Sheehan argues, in this video made six months ago (which I have transcribed in part), that if Sanders is a Socialist, he would not be an imperialist. He supports war. He supported Bill Clinton's invasion of Kosovo. Sanders voted to make the Patriot Act permanent as well, which is not a socialist value...

How to Make the United States an Ethical Model for the World
Compassion is the common element found in all major world religions, yet religion is still the opiate of the people... It is necessary to have a government that encourages citizens to rely on independent media sources (instead of a mainstream media)in the formation of world-views... Bernie Sanders needs a more enlightened foreign policy... Sixteen cabinet members are recommended to advise Bernie if he is elected.

Living in an Age of Donald Trump, David Icke, and David Duke
David Icke, in his video lecture, is alarmed about Agenda 21, which to me in many ways sounds pretty good. Maybe I'm a Reptilian from another planet and just don't know it! But seriously, the problem in all of this is that some of these fringe groups have elements of truth, which makes them very dangerous as more people join their bandwagons. The world is out of control.

Earthlings Full Length Documentary
Last week I watched and posted here at OpEdNews the youtube video "Cowspiracy The Sustainability Secret 2014 Full Documentary HD," and that made a vegan out of me. I now just watched at youtube "Earthlings Full Length Documentary Multi Subtitles." This documentary posted below was very difficult to stomach, but I think we have a social and moral obligation to find out the truth about how animals are treated to meet our needs..

David Stockman: Why Neocons Fear Trump

My Brief Worldview and Policy Recommendations
In this short article, I share my religious and political worldviews. I discuss the limitation of religions and the value of meditation; reducing the disparity between the rich and poor; how and why we should have a constitutional convention to implement proportional representation; how and why we should radically decentralize public schools; and why we need a democratic world government to eliminate nuclear weapons.

La Riva, Stein, Chomsky and Blum Discuss Sanders' Surge
Two third party presidential candidates argue that the American people would hear about revolutionary ideas that Bernie is not talking about if third parties could be part of the debate. And two foreign policy experts discuss Bernie's "socialism" and foreign policy.
What Is the Greatest Commandment?
If we love all and exclude none, we will remove the social and political barriers that prevent others from realizing their fullest potential--not just in our own country, but throughout the world. We live, breathe, and have our being within a global ecosystem. Our economic choices and our political decisions must be sustainable: We must have equal compassion for the people of future generations, even seven generations...

The Five Things that Prevent World Peace
We can study the Christian Bible to learn about Jesus, the Hindu Bhagavad Gita to learn about Krishna, the Buddhist Pali Canon to learn about the Buddha, and the Communist Manifesto to learn about the Marxism of Karl Marx. The five major things that prevent world peace and threaten the survival of the planet are U.S. imperialism, corporate capitalism, the environmental crisis, anti-intellectual consumerism, and the rigid...

Bernie for President--A Plan for Posterity
The theme of the presidential race could be "A Plan for Posterity." In this article, I name eleven people, whose composite strengths could steer our nation in the right direction. I also mention what is important if our plan is good for seven generations.

Social Transformation through Meditation
To create a new society, we need more than a nonviolent political revolution: we also need a spiritual transformation of individuals. We cannot create outer peace until we find inner peace.

Elizabeth Warren for President--A Plan for Posterity
The theme of the presidential race could be "A Plan for Posterity." In this article I name eleven people whose composite strengths and skills could steer our nation in the right direction. I also mention what I believe is important, if our plan is good for seven generations. Ukraine is an urgent concern right now, as neoconservatives want and plan a war with Russia. I am proud of what President Obama has done for Cuba!
Still Longing for Peace on Earth
After discussing seven political and religious groups in American society, the author argues that the only way to create unity among so much diversity is to empower the 7 largest national political parties under a system of proportional representation. But to accomplish all the needed changes, a new national constitution is needed. And to achieve that, Article V must be revised through a new constitutional amendment.

Third Constitution of the United States
If Article V can be revised according to the author's proposed constitutional amendment, it will then be easier for Congress to pass constitutional amendments, but it will also be possible, if 51% of Americans approve it, to have a constitutional convention every 4 years in which the 7 largest national political parties, through proportional representation, will be allowed to send 100 delegates to a constitutional convention.

The Safest and Fairest Way to have a Constitutional Convention
To create the maximum degree of democracy, it is necessary to create a new constitution that empowers the 7 largest national political parties, using proportional representation to elect the House of Representatives while totally abolishing the U.S. Senate. A constitutional amendment to revise Article V of our current constitution is proposed, and if passed, will show a safe and fair way to have a constitutional convention.

How to Create the Ideal Government and Society
Empowering the seven largest national political parties in the United States, and using a system of proportional representation to elect the House, while eliminating the U.S. Senate altogether, are probably the most important ideas discussed here to create the ideal government. Using proportional representation to select delegates to a Constitutional Convention is also recommended.

With So Much Diversity, Can There Be Unity and Peace?
This article describes the ideal scenario of what a democratic nation and world should look like. The beliefs of some of the major political and religious groups in the United States are summarized. It then identifies the necessary amendments and laws that the U.S. Congress must ultimately pass in order to maximize democracy and promote world peace.

Beyond the Democratic Socialist and Green Agendas
The author has praise for the Democratic Socialists and the Greens, but believes that their dreams and visions can be further defined in the creation of a new U.S. political third party called the New Congress Party.
Progressive Strategies Tried and Policies Recommended
This article discusses the Occupy and Peace movements; the multitude of progressive websites and activities yet the one percent is still in control; third-party issues; Article V Conventions; the difficulties and limitation of merely reversing the Citizens United ruling when several constitutional amendments are needed to create a truly democratic culture; and the author's own recommended 27 demands to make of Congress.

What All Third Parties Can Agree On
This essay argues that it is worth making the effort to get an amendment passed that completely revises Article V in order to make it easier to amend and abolish the Constitution.
