There is a lot of surrogate things a man can do when there's no meaningful work in sight. And all of those are at our service. You can do hunting for instance. Get lots of guns. Hunt deer for a thrill. You don't really need to hunt them but it makes you tick. Haven't felt that way for a long time, did you? Or you can work on your house trying to keep up with Joneses. Learn all that wiring stuff and carpentry stuff, painting courses, masonry. All useful. Remodel your kitchen, bathroom, etc. Then remodel again. Feel pride. That could lead to better sex, I suppose. Have forgotten when you had been proud from your paying work, didn't you? So now you seek for a pride elsewhere. Or you can "spend time with the kids'. Not that you really want it. What you want is to be a good example, right? But there is no way to be a good example if you have a miserable job or no job or your kids see their dad pushed around by whoever wants it. Thus you then " spend your time' with them, reading them stories and having fun to forget your anger and to justify the time wasted. Entertainment is there for you; you can become a fan, drag your family to sports events, frequent carnivals, drink 6- packs, join the Tea- Party and " fight socialism', support our troops and attend the militia training, complain about taxes and Obamacare, etc. Or you can play sports down to absurdity, or drink Cialis, or pump iron or run like crazy every day. All to push away the thoughts that you are screwed, that you have no skill, you miserable insurance agent or orderly or Wal-Mart employee, an engineer who does the job of a technician, a PhD who forgot what a differential is, or even worse- unemployed- a nothing, out of the loop, a statistics used by the lying talking heads on TV, those who also have no skills but for some strange reason lied themselves up so high that lies had become their natural habitat.

Lie is a religion of slaves and slave- owners. Thus if we here are transferred to self selling slaves lie comes easy to us. We blame. We blame those other unemployed, those immigrants, those women, those Chinese, Japanese, Hindu, Mexicans, whoever. We stock guns to protect ourselves from terrorists, from the government, from whoever although deep inside we know that the only enemy is within, that the seed of destruction is inside, that we have nothing to do and that's the word. If I bring into one room unemployed men of different species- from US, China, Middle East, Mexico, Europe, Africa- you bet they all will have the same look in their eyes- the look of desperation. Equality in misery is in fact something we in the mankind had achieved very well. Because we all know that so far the only crime is to be poor.

Lies lower the standards. If a President can lie openly about the war he unleashed and get away with it why not a general? If a person in power concocts a scheme and not only uses it but also is genuinely happy with it why not an engineer? If a professor teaches crap and knows it but he doesn't care why not a High School teacher? If a food company deliberately destroys the food cooperatives and individual farmers to devise a monopoly on the food supply why should an Oil company worry about a design flaw? If for years children see their fathers being nothing but pawns of the big forces why won't they want to join the drug cartels or become terrorists. Just for a thrill, folks. Lie creates a special environment and requires a special language which our lying shills are only happy to oblige.
