Summary: Power to the Skill

I did not invent this heading. This was written in one of last Soviet magazines, maybe because the crisis of the professionalism is the universal thing. The further away from power and from crucial decisions are the professionals pushed, the more screwy the things become. Skill makes a person independent and independence makes a person honest. Honesty is an absolute requirement for the power- seeker in the democratic society and by honesty I mean the honest look at thyself first and foremost. If we had honest politicians we would not have Sarah Palin as the most influential person. A person with no skills, no good education, no real human qualities and with extremely low intellectual level cannot be trusted. If we had honesty as a virtue that all would have been in the open long ago.

Skill does not surrender without a fight. People work in societies, volunteer, they gather, they start their own businesses to pursue their dreams( this is a very separate topic and I do not touch it here), they sacrifice a lot to feel that pride of being on their own, to sustain themselves through "honest work for honest pay'. Hey, yes, that's how it started, folks, not through "get a job and adapt'. They also change the essence of boring jobs into the meaningful work, losing that job in many cases. People intuitively understand that the real struggle in the society is between the Haves and The Have-nots and that the Haves use the skills of the Have-nots while themselves having no skills whatsoever. It is an eternal struggle between the doers and parasites and the doers never have time to get the power, and the parasites have all the time and get it. But the stakes are higher and higher and we cannot afford parasites in power anymore. Those are serious times and we need serious people to solve serious problems. We have to put our skills to work, especially the skills of men because as I repeat- men become men only through meaningful work- there is no other way. We need big projects and big goals, we need skillful men to be in charge, we need the strong national government of real professionals to turn its face to the real problem of the society and that problem is not Jobs. It is a meaningful purpose. If we do not want our men to tear this fabric apart we need to give them all a purpose. American dream is over, folks; it is time for an American awakening.

I am asking women here to do a very mature thing- to love and understand. Look into the eyes of your men- fathers, brothers, sons, husbands, boyfriends. See the desperation of the idle hands and brains. See the integrity wasted. See the rage of the righteous. Help us. We need help. In this struggle for survival and prosperity against a possible horrible destruction, please, help us. There is no war between us but there is a barrier of artificial dishonesty erected deliberately by the forces which need that. There is no malice in what I say; only the inconvenient truth. We are equal though- please, accept it and direct your proper feelings positive or negative alike not at some abstract "gender' but at the proper groups of people who either are a part of a problem or a part of the solution. For our children, for God's sake, let's unite in the pursuit of real happiness. Let's try to earn our freedom without the betrayal, together. Please.
