- There are no conclusions

-The actual language is on the level of the 3rd Grade.

-There is a lot of hysterics- high-pitched voices, stupid noises, giggling and corny jokes.

- There is NO foreign information unless it is sports.

- There is no mentioning on what foreigners think of us.

- There is no REAL JOURNALISM- just SHILLING between the ads.

- There is a lot of corny smiles.

- There is a lot of sexual innuendo.

Did I miss anything? Oh yes, people involved in all that nonsense are paid lavishly, much more than a professional engineer. They certainly do the job they are told to do and that's the word- doing what you are told.

I have been in this country for 20 years and through all those 20 years I read job requirements, classifieds and resumes. It is my way to understand what's going on. Obviously, I am most interested in the engineering field but I look around too. And this is what I noticed- the aspect in both had been skewing more and more from the seeking and presenting a living individual to seeking and presenting a dead tool. More and more the classifieds resemble the ads about buying and selling things. I am waiting for the ultimate Craig list ad, "Will barter a group of engineers for the Jaguar. Contract negotiable.' The job requirements become more and more vague on the purpose and more and more concentrated on the usage of certain tools. The engineering position does not require problem solving skills anymore, at least not immediately. But it does require working knowledge of CAD, numerical tools, databases, Microsoft Office, teamwork, communicative skills, adaptation, flexibility and ABSOLUTE OBEDIENCE. No, that is not stated that way. But even a half- wit can read through the lines. Ask those BP people who expressed their concerns about bad designs about what happened to them.

Sell yourself- shout the gurus at the top of their lungs. Your skill means nothing if you can't sell yourself. In the old times slaves did not sell themselves- other people did it for them. We eliminated a middle- man and are teaching the goods to sell themselves. Here is an example from the Internet: Avoid those 10 resume mistakes and you will get a JOB!!!!
