Meaningful work is the proper usage of the skill, the development and nurturing of a professional occupation through permanent challenge. That's the necessary step in the development of the man's character. Without meaningful work men stagnate, get nuts and turn to the surrogates. In the everyday life meaningful work manifests itself not only in the strong household but the power of skills oriented associations. Trade Unions are the most striking example. The primary purpose of any Trade Union is to protect the skill by demanding the adequate pay for its usage. We should love the Trade Unions, nurture them. Instead we despise them and destroy them. As a result meaningful works are rare. You can try to make your current job creative, develop a thrill aspect. But what is a job?
Job= Paycheck
There is a Biblical story of Job, a man who had everything. Then God prostrated His had over him and sent him into misery to test his loyal faith. Somewhere on the way Job broke off and started lamenting against God. The idea is that humility should not leave you even in success. You have to be careful. Job had to be careful. Now that we have a job we have to be careful too.
The best description of the Job I found in one correspondence, "Everyone wants to leave but no one wants to be fired.' Job is a paycheck. Someone needed help, you applied among other people, were interviewed and picked up as the possible best helper. It is not about you- it is about that help you apparently are capable of providing. In sorts, the actual hiring of a person is an unfortunate circumstance for business- it would prefer not to hire you but there seem to be no choice at least for now.
Jobs, Jobs, Jobs- shout the political pundits on TV. They do not say "Work, work, work'. That would be a sacrilege. Work is a right. A rather forgotten right- the right which first appeared on the black banners of St. Antoine in Paris in the 1840s, "To live working or to die fighting.' Those who work can fight. Those who have jobs- don't. That's a difference.
There are many examples of that from McDonalds to admin. personnel in the doctor's offices but nowhere it is so clearly seen as in the media. Just make an experiment- turn on a news station and just listen to it for a day. Unless you are a total imbecile you will notice the following pattern;
-News information if any is very shallow. Pure entertainment prevails.
- There is no analysis- every discussion ends in nothing.
- There are numerous repeats.
- There are too many of the same pundits discussing the same topics forever
