TrumpCare 101

You bought it so you own it Mr. Trump. Buckle up Americans the Republicans are working overtime to come up with a amazing, tremendous, terrific healthcare plan that's a better, cheaper, bring-your-own-doctor plan that covers everybody and gets rid crabgrass and Muslims too. Unfortunately for the working poor, you know the hardworking guy or gal that works at Walmart, McDonald's, or a small business who gets paid 10 or 12 bucks an hour, isn't going to be able to come up with the money to pay for it... That's because instead of a subsidy you're gonna get screwed, oops I mean a tax credit. Now ObamaCare gives you a subsidy that that gets paid up front to the insurer, as opposed to the tax credit, which you get like a tax refund next year.

Now under Obamacare through the marketplace a family of 5, 2 adults and 3 children, plans start at about $600 to $1600 per month.. The highest amount of subsidy you can get is about $600 so if a family making 35k or less you're never going to be able to come up $600 a month after your other bills, unless you get an up-front subsidy.

Now the other tricksy thing they have come up with is how they are going to distribute the tax credit. They plan to give all Americans who are not covered by their employer, a flat credit by age, regardless of income. Now the older you are the higher dollar benefit regardless of how wealthy you are ... This means someone making ten million dollars a year will get the same benefit as someone busting their ass trying to support a family on ten bucks a hour. The plan also includes tax-free health-savings accounts but that only helps people with higher incomes. The working poor do not have discretionary income to save...

Republicans wanted to remove certain provisions and complained that ObamaCare drove up the cost of healthcare by requiring all plans to cover a standard package that included an annual check-up, prescription-drugs plans, coverage for people with preexisting conditions for the same price as healthy people, and lifetime limits on coverage, but those things will stay on the books because they don't have the 60 votes needed to change this.

Republicans want to remove the tax penalty for not participating in the plan but you will have a two-year window to sign on or you won't be able to get coverage if you get sick later on... BAD IDEA...

The details are not finalized so make sure you stay informed and involved and DON'T LET THEM REMOVE THE SUBSIDIES... let's make the right changes not the quick changes.

In a lifetime, people usually change jobs many times or they start their own business. The country really needs a portable, affordable healthcare plan that would cover all American citizens regardless of age or income... And congress should lose their cushy healthcare plan and have the same healthcare plan as the TrumpCare plan so then maybe they will get it right... You could also call it medicare but I'm sure the OrangeMan will have to nail his name on it...

The Republicans have control of both houses and Mr. Trump said his healthcare plan is going to be amazing, terrific, tremendous, cheaper, better, and everybody will be covered. Make sure to hold him to his word and get this right...
