Exhibit 14: The next reason tendered by CPIC for rescinding my embed was low readership:

MNFI Mediaembed wrote:

Unfortunately we are unable to support your embed requests. The
decision was made at the CORP level and the main reasoning behind the
final decision is the low circulation of your work compared to military
expense. We apologize for any incontinence. Thank you.

Exhibit 15: My editor at OpEd News, Rob Kall, then wrote to CPIC:

Last month, we reached over 615,000 unique visitors. There are only a handful of newspapers that reach as many people.

Exhibit 16: My e-mail to CPIC, dated February 3, 2008, also refuted their reasoning that I had low readership:

Please inform CORP that I have conferred with my editor at OpEd News regarding the "low circulation of [my] work" and he stated, "Last month, we reached over 615,000 unique visitors. There are only a handful of newspapers that reach as many people."

Exhibit 17: I wrote to my former contact at CPIC, requesting an approval for me to proceed to Camp Striker while I waited for CPIC to find me an embed:

Dear LTC Garver:

I am not sure if you are still stationed at CPIC, but am writing to you just in case that you still are. As you may or may not remember, I met you there in April of 2007.

I was given an embed with the 3ID in January 2008 and, given reassurances by the 3ID's PAO that I did have a specific embed, I then proceeded to purchase my plane ticket to Kuwait. Soon afterwards, however, my permission to embed was suddenly withdrawn, due, allegedly, to battlefield conditions. However, other reporters have been embedded in the same area where I would like to go so that reason seemed selective and I appealed it.

I was then given another reason for not being embedded -- that I didn't have enough of a readership. However, I write for OpEd News, which has a readership of approximately 615,000. So that reason also seems selective -- especially considering my excellent and widely-read coverage of the Marines in Anbar this past October and my interviews on ABC, CBS and Fox News last April, wherein I highly praised our wonderful troops.

Please see what you can do to approve my embed. I will be arriving at KWI in the evening of February 13. If you cannot find me a specific embed before that time, please cut me orders to proceed to Camp Striker until a specific embed is found for me.
