This is the End ... my only friend, The End ...
Could this be The Donald's theme song at long last? Will Wisconsin Democrats cross over to vote for him to better ensure a Democrat victory in November? Will Ted Cruz' jokes about backing over Trump with his Buick put a dent in his campaign? Will this selection season ever end?
Wow -- Trump was called before the principle today (aka GOP Chair lather, Rince, repeat) for his recent extreme double-whammies: saying women should be punished for having abortions and refusing to rule out nuclear strikes against Europe. Words fail. It's as if he just makes this stuff up as he rolls along. Well actually, that is what he's doing, isn't he? Until now the explosions have been relatively contained, but the idea of the US dropping nuclear bombs on, say, Paris coupled with the thought of "punishing" women for aborting their pregnancies ... guess that was just a bridge too far.
And let's get real. The Donald is 70 and owns a couple of beauty pageants, He's on his 3rd, 4th, maybe 5th spokesmodel wife/nude model. Are we to believe there's never been an aborted L'il hairflap or two (or 20) in his past? What was that Jesus said about ye who is without sin? Lemme check, I think it was in Two Corinthians . . .
Enough already, let's talk about something else. Anything else. Oh, here we go -- three injured by a gunman at a bus station in Richmond Virginia. The shooter is dead and a state trooper is severely injured. Just another day in gun-crazy America, Truthseekers. Hardly worth discussing.
Let's see, what else ... a former Baylor University student has filed a federal lawsuit against the Baptist University for failing to take action when she reported that she was raped by Baylor football player Tevin Elliot. Now that's terrible, but what would be REALLY awful would be if she turned up pregnant from the rape and got an abortion. Good grief, if President Trump had his way she might face further "punishment."
Alrighty, moving right along through the newswire ... here's one -- the Chicago cop who fired 16 shots into Laquan McDonald, killing the unarmed black teenager, has a new job as a janitor for the police union. Yup -- they take care of their own, don't they? What a slap in the face to the victim's friends and family, and the whole black community. It seems that killer cop Jason Van Dyke was struggling to support his family after being fired for, you know, murdering a child. So they rehired him in another position, isn't that great? Imagine if a black kid fired 16 shots and killed an unarmed white police officer ... where would he be? Under the jail? Swinging from a tree? He damn sure wouldn't be lawfully employed -- as a janitor or anything -- outside the federal penal system. Another reason to vote for Bernie and fight the prison industrial complex and the war on black kids.
And finally tonight -- a recent scientific study from researchers at The University of Massachusetts and Pennsylvania State indicate that sea levels could rise by 50 feet by the year 2500, much higher and faster than previously predicted. The NY Times has more:
"Continued high emissions of heat-trapping gases could launch a disintegration of the ice sheet within decades, according to a study published Wednesday, heaving enough water into the ocean to raise the sea level as much as three feet by the end of this century.
"With ice melting in other regions, too, the total rise of the sea could reach five or six feet by 2100, the researchers found. That is roughly twice the increase reported as a plausible worst-case scenario by a United Nations panel just three years ago, and so high it would likely provoke a profound crisis within the lifetimes of children being born today. The situation would grow far worse beyond 2100, the researchers found, with the rise of the sea exceeding a pace of a foot per decade by the middle of the 22nd century.
"Scientists had documented such rates of increase in the geologic past, when far larger ice sheets were collapsing, but most of them had long assumed it would be impossible to reach rates so extreme with the smaller ice sheets of today. Vulnerable parts of the higher, colder ice sheet of East Antarctica would eventually fall apart, too, and the result by the year 2500 would be 43 feet of sea level rise from Antarctica alone, with still more water coming from elsewhere, the computer estimated. In some areas, the shoreline would be likely to move inland by miles."
