E pluribus Unum

Mr. Sam: "Good Morning, class."

Class: "Good Morning, Mr. Sam."

Mr. Sam: "For now, you can just call me 'Uncle'."

Darryl: "The Man from U.N.C.L.E."

(Applause.)

Mr. Sam bows: "Clarence, what are you doing?"

(Clarence is holding his pet lizard, slowly moving it up and down the wallboard, while holding his ear to the wall.)

Clarence: "We're checking for bugs."

Mr. Sam: "Have you found any?"

Clarence: "No. But that doesn't mean they're not there."

(Scattered laughter.)

Mr. Sam: "Well, for now, deposit your lizard back in its cage, and put it on the floor by your desk. It's time to launch this Ship of State."

Darryl: "Ker-Splash!"

Mr. Sam: "Yesterday we talked about how our nation is like a sturdy oak tree, with three main branches. We discussed the branch we call the Congress. What is the Congress? Suzie?"

Susan: "The Congress is a broad term for the Senate and the House of Representatives. Members of either chamber can write on paper what they want to become a law. But they have to use lawyer talk."

Teacher; Corporate lackey. I believe the assassinations of JFK and RFK were a coup d'e'tat.
