Gourmet Cuisine with Meryl Ann

I was recently reminded of my Impeach Cobbler recipe, which I invented back in 2008 after being inspired by Swami Beyondananda' s recipe for "Impeach Pie". I never guessed I'd someday find myself nostalgic for the Bush years.

The good Swami's pie looked delicious, but, sheesh, a crust? Who has that kind of time?

So, for those times when a pie crust is simply too much work, here's my recipe for delicious peach-ful protest.

Im-Peach Cobbler.

Here's my easy recipe.

It took me seven minutes, and that included inventing the recipe and throwing the dirty dishes in the dishwasher. Eighteen years later, it still seems like a perfectly good way to deal with both peaches and the state of the world. (But check the updated version below.)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

What you need:

A couple cups of oats (not that instant crap, unless you have no other choice. Can I say "crap"?)

Frozen concentrated apple or white grape juice. (Optional.)

Walnuts, almonds, pecans, other nuts and/or sunflower seeds. (Optional.)

Cinnamon. (Optional. Come to think of it, most of these ingredients are optional.)

Salt.
