If we are living in an "optical delusion" (referred to as "maya" in Hinduism), it becomes clear that - given the reality posited by our best physicists - work on our own consciousness needs to be a primary focus of our attention and action.
From this point of view, we can experience ourselves and others as patterns within one consciousness field. This means doing whatever we are able to see through the illusion (and conviction) that we are a separate ego in competition with other egos on the planet. [Peter Russell coined the term 'ego-nomics'.] This requires the development of humility as well as deepened awareness. We can, at times, become vehicles for the transformation of awareness on our planet.

Regarding progressive change, we are only minimally aware of the ripples that may go out into the world through our individual efforts and awareness. While we certainly live in a big world - if non-locality is actual state of affairs - we have not yet plumbed the depths of the kinds of social change that is possible.
