The longer this unstable situation exists and festers without resolve, the chances for any peaceful accord among the Israeli's and the Palestinian's is highly unimaginable.

Adding to this cauldron of instability is the sense that if Israel were to squarely confront its internal divisions amongst the far right Orthodox in Israel proper as well as the West Bank with the moderate majority of Israeli's who want peace with the Palestinians in a two state solution, the country would be torn apart internally.

So Israel meanders along in a denial of reality, as to itself and the Palestinian people they occupy.

Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu today meets with President Obama a month after their meeting was postponed (over the Israeli hijacking of a humanitarian flotilla on the high seas that was headed for Gaza).

One would be hard put to expect any real diplomatic breakthroughs.
