OpEdNEws' Exclusive Angle on the Judiciary Committee Whistleblower Outing
You probably are aware that the house judiciary committee "accidentally" released an email, displaying, publicly, all the emails of the recipients, who were whistelblowers for the justice department. We're working with one of the recipients. He's sent out an email to all his fellows on the list. (Yes, we do have the email list.)

This could be a very big story. Our whistleblower claims that the Justice Dept. has been covering up and refusing to investigate some nasty business, involving theft of tens of millions of dollars that one of the Republican Candidates is closely connected to.

We'll be keeping you up to date on this as it develops. One thing-- several of the people on the email list don't know how their names got there, which suggests that they were put on the list by someone else-- maybe someone who thought they had something to tell the Judiciary committee.

Covering the Dem Debate in Philly for OpEdNews and Gravel's Counter Event
I spent over eight hours down at Drexel University on Tuesday, covering the debate. Rather than talking about the content of the debate, I've written about all the other things I saw and did while down there. OpEdNews is ALL about citizen journalism. Anyone can write for us who can write well and offer new ideas or perspectives. And, once you're a regular writer with us, we'll work to get you press passes to events, as we've done for a growing number of our regulars. So, check out what I did, who I met, and get inspired to become a reporter for OpEdNEws. I also took lots of pictures and I drop lots of names.

URGENT, URGENT URGENT Fundraising Situation. Come on People!!!
After covering the Dem Debate in Philly yesterday, arriving home at 1:30 AM, then writing up, adding the photos, etc. I was too tired to do a newsletter yesterday. The problem is, it was the last day of the month and we were behind over $1500. The crazy thing is, September was a record month for us-- in terms of a number of ways to look at the site-- most hits, most page views-- so why are we having a hard time raising money?

I think the biggest reason is that a lot of our readers are depending on Someone Else (Mr. Someone Else, Ms. Someone Else, Dr. Someone Else... ) to be the one to kick in contributions. I know that some of you are long time political activists and some are new to this world. But either way, the need for grassroots financial support for the alternative media is urgent and essential. We need to have about $3300 a month to pay our bills. We're working on getting funding from foundations, but it takes time for applications to be evaluated, approved and funded. Meanwhile, you are all we have to depend upon. So... please make your contribution today, so we can get caught up on October. We need to raise $1500 to reach our October goal. What can you do to help?

And remember, if you're on a fixed, low income, don't even worry about giving. We don't charge for OpEdNews copntent and believe it should be free to everyone.
But, if you can give-- say, what you spent on your last weekend out-- dinner, trip to cancun, a movie, that new chalet in Switzerland , why not send an equal amount to OpEdNews.com to support our continuing work.

Okay, I'll do it. I'll make a contribution today to OpEdNews.

Who are the most Influential Progressives in America

The UK's TELEGRAPH has put together a list of most influential liberals in America. They've been releasing the list gradually-- the top 40-100 first. So I figutred I'd create my own list. And it would be fun to see what you come up with. Add your names and reasons to the list in the comments below my article.

thanks,

Voting became a political narcotic when it stopped working to improve government and became used to legitimize a corrupt, two-party failed government.
