And so it went""more selling of war, more mind games, and more repetition of the Big Lie followed by a chorus of thundering applause.
Certainly, most Americans have not seen the costs of the war we're fighting against the men, women, and children of Iraq who are not terrorists and had no connection with al-Qaeda.
The men and women in our military for whom this fraudulent president feels awe were sent to kill and be killed in a country that posed no threat to our freedoms. And those who die in this war that should never have been waged return to our country in the dead of night, visible to few but their grieving families while so many sleep under a comforter of denial. But as more and more of our young men and women are killed, more and more will understand the costs of this tragedy.
Bush insists that we honor the fallen by "staying the course." In other words, he ignores the advice of experts as well as the voices of the Iraqi people, ensuring that more of our own and more of theirs will fall.
And the president wants us to believe that he is in awe of the men and women who make the ultimate sacrifice for this country. Give me a break. The man with the Texas-size ego is in awe of himself and his position to place his finger on the war button and push "start." First, Afghanistan. Then, Iraq. Next, Iran. How awesome. George "Shock and Awe" Bush is leaving a legacy of memorial days 365 days a year for more and more people here and in the Middle East.
