The horror of the Fukushima disaster in Japan continues as that country faces fresh environmental disasters that threaten to further poison the country.
The Iwakuni Otake Petrochemical Complex in Yamaguchi Prefecture in southwestern Japan suffered a series of explosions last Sunday, killing one worker and injuring 11 others; the compound is still on fire. This plant was a repository for spent nuclear waste and depleted uranium and although the Japanese government denies it, the radioactive fallout from this new disaster could be almost as devastating as the Fukushima nightmare.
Why isn't the mainstream media paying more attention to this story, Truthseekers? Is it because there is no way to spin a happy ending because -- according to some experts -- a cloud of deadly radioactive particles is headed to the Western US and there's not a thing that can be done about it?
Dr. Mark Sircus, a medical researcher, had this to say about the disaster:
"While our government would love us all to believe that the nuclear problems in Japan are under control, nothing could be farther from the truth. Engineers for Tokyo Electric Power Co. (Tepco) say readings of airborne radiation inside reactor No. 2 showed almost 73 sieverts per hour this week."To put that into perspective, exposure to that amount of radiation would kill a normal person within minutes. These levels are some of the highest readings since the beginning of the disaster and there is no one telling us that this nuclear contamination will lessen."

"The Dalai Lama summaries the situation saying, 'We have degenerated into an insane society, unconsciously committing mass suicide by ecocide. Unrestrained corporate capitalism coercively and insidiously exploits vulnerable people and myopically plunders, depletes and corrupts finite planetary resources that sustain life.'"
The Japanese government lied to it's citizens about the severity of the damage and the potential for deadly exposure. See below...
Why should we expect anything different here?
