For your reflection:
I am a 70-year-old veteran who waited to get his maximum SS payment and Medicare. Best deal I ever had, so I am not whining, just gently warning. I have read that Trump is trying to remove SS from people. He can't do that. The aged will revolt, and besides that, enough of them will balk at the idea of their sons and daughters being forced out of the honorable social contract that our government signed with us in 1932 that the Republicans will know they haven't got the votes.
However, the pols might succeed in raising the ages of eligibility. That is incremental enough (as the process of paying for America's wars that do not defend the United States goes torturously on), that although it would force innocent American taxpayers to accept more of the burden of paying for wars and connivance in wars that do not defend them, financially speaking it would merely give those who are not yet elderly a greater impetus to stay healthy, while not annulling entirely the New Deal President Franklin D. Roosevelt, a rich but relatively enlightened patrician, signed with the people of this nation.

Bernie Sanders is going to tear Trump a new bottom hole in the campaign. I'm calling it 51.5-48.5 Sanders. Trump will win Florida, but Sanders will get the Latino vote and enough more black vote to carry the Midwest states he must.
If he wins Texas he wins anyway, and polls say he is decisively ahead among Dems there, so unification behind the candidate might outrace the GOP organizing there.
Once he has won, one of the first complex of appointments that Sanders will must-- attend to will be bringing scientists back into scientific positions. As Mr. Mark Sumner, a staffer of Daily Kos, writes persuasively here,
the Trump-declared budget cuts to the key agencies responsible for dealing with CoVid19 and any other disease that may mutate into being have damaged the US health care system, already running on the razor's-edge of overwork and underpay.
We are asked to just trust in Mr. Trump's assurances that this disease will all die out by sometime in April. Pence will exhort us to use prayer to finesse the present lack of a vaccine.
Ell Oh Freakin Ell! Bet you thought he was going to reassure us, didnja!?
