EQUAL MEANS EQUAL President Kamala Lopez joins National ERA Publication Task Force Co-Chair Jean Sweeney and OB-GYN Dr. Eileen Murphy to explain why the ERA is presently ratified, and why it must be published by the Archivist and directed to do so by President Biden immediately as required by law to save reproductive rights and provide women and the LGBTQIA community with equal rights and protections under our Constitution.
The first version of an ERA was written by Alice Paul and Crystal Eastman and introduced in Congress a full century ago, in December 1923. One. Hundred. Years. Ago.
The Equal Means Equal YouTube channel is here.
The states of California, Minnesota, Michigan, Hawaii and Illinois have all recently passed resolutions affirming the ERA is currently the 28th Amendment and calling on President Biden to publish the duly ratified era. On July 14th of this year representative Corey Bush introduced House Joint Resolution 82 into the House of Representatives.
Senator Kirsten Gillibrand of New York introduced companion resolution SJ RES 39 on July 27th stating the ERA has been validly ratified, is enforceable, and the archivist should certify and publish the ERA as the 28th Amendment without delay.
On January 27, 2020, the American people finished ratifying the Equal Rights Amendment. And yet it has not been enforced. Misogyny, much?
