The Apostle Paul wrote "the love of money is the root of all evil." This declaration has been the premise of much literature and cinema. It became a mantra in the 1960s. Then the 1980s rolled around and Ronald Reagan and Gordon Gekko told America that greed was good. America loved that its love of money was validated and Katy Bar the Door - unrepentant capitalists and lauded shysters and suburban money grubbers came out of the woodwork. Ultimately Christianity embraced giddy acquisitiveness, building churches larger than football stadiums with wiz bangs and tennis courts and shiny feel-good prosperity proclamations from ministers living in multi-million-dollar homes, wearing Armani suits, and flying to Cabo in private jets. Then many in the military decided the time had come to live out their faith, much of it gleaned from video games and bombastic sermons devoid of Jesus, preachers and followers shouting -- bring on Armageddon!

"Never trust a preacher with more than two suits." Lenny Bruce

The United States of America became a country that could no longer take care of itself. The City on the Hill finally succumbed to its history and its endemic greed. And now we are murdering children and having our own killed in a war brought on by a man foul and evil and mentally diseased, and we all know it, but could not stop him because the love of money finally broke us.

The American public has always supported wars at the outset. Not this one. Now would be the perfect time to have a general strike. We could cripple this place and get some relief. It would initiate the pulling of the corporatists' and the oligarchs' heads about half-way out of Trump's fat behind.

Where are the leaders of the Democratic Party? Where is No Kings? Where is Indivisible? This is the time to act. Where is a leader? The midterms are being promoted as some magic stinking panacea. Total BS. If you have been paying attention they are either possibly not going to happen or voting is going to be destroyed for the opposition by the Republicans.

We need to wake up!
