Over the course of the multiple hearings that followed the broadcast of the Kushner's testimony, Americans experienced a jaw-dropping deluge of specifics about an incredulous months-long pattern of dictatorial maneuverings by Trump in his fruitless effort to remain in power, culminating with the attack on the Capital.
Among the disclosures included: a plan to seize voting machines; a plot to send fake electors to replace President-elect Joseph Biden's legitimate electors; a physical assault on a Secret Service agent; throwing dishes, flipping tablecloths and hurling food items during fits of rage; and inciting animosity by the mob toward his own vice-president. All told, their stories painted the alarming portrait of an overwrought president whose personal battles against logic and reason were emphatically waged on a daily basis.
ALL CRIMES MATTER
Should Trump somehow manage to avoid significant criminal liability in all this, such a victory is sure to become a badge of honor and source of inspiration -- perhaps even envy -- among many of the repeatedly impeached ex-president's favorite despots.
