Pelley: "Eleven, 12 million illegal immigrants --"
Trump: "Or whatever the number is."
Pelley: "Still in the country, what do you do?"
Trump: "If they've done well, they're going out and they're coming back in legally. Because you said it--"
Pelley: "You're rounding them all up?"
Trump: "We're rounding 'em up in a very humane way, in a very nice way. And they're going to be happy because they want to be legalized. And, by the way, I know it doesn't sound nice. But not everything is nice."
Of course, these 11 million (he had originally claimed 35 million, which is the number of legal immigrants: ignorance or deliberate lying?) have 5 million US citizen children living with them...would they then be deported?

And under current laws, of the millions seeking legal entry, less than 50,000 unskilled laborers are permitted, and does this include the US children? Trump himself takes up a portion of those scant permits by hiring immigrants to work in his Florida hotels instead of local citizens
Now he has backpedaled to claiming he will deport all the criminals, only 2-3 million. However, only 173,000 are serving sentence (most paper crimes), so he would have to round up the 3 million households with 5 million US citizens and send them back to Mexico, where less than 1% qualify for re-entry.
This is more than bait and switch; this is reminiscent of the early Nazi plan to expell the Jews, and it is revealing that in his rallies, Trump always had an expulsion ritual, with protesters mugged or dragged off to his repeated line: Get em outta here!
Wild applause.
So the promise to deport 11 million has become 2-3 million and of those, only 6% have criminal charges, 90% paper crimes.. This means he will retreat to the Obama position of deporting actual criminals, most of whom are guilty of lack of documentation only, which during Obama the Deporter in Chief's 8 years has been 3 million, most turned back at the border.
So the bait of "I will deport 11 million" has been switched to "I will deport the criminals," which falls back on his original Big Lie that "Mexicans are rapists....criminals..' whereas in fact they ar the most law-abiding group in the US with a crime rate (mostly documentation) 50% lower than US citizens and of 14,000 murders in the US, being guilty of 15.
