A spell is the way a word is formed to manipulate your perception of yourself and the world. This is literal. As you are manipulated in the classroom, and commercial television, your brain rewires itself. Thus you are under the spell of the "powers that be".
Ever have a jingle from a television ad locked in your head. That's how spells are made.
Thus, the line, "be ye like an infant" is super dangerous. To be like an infant is to be a-theistic in terms of being beyond conditioning. To be like an infant is to not be spellbound.
To summarize, what we call atheism is NOT atheism. Indeed, atheism as practiced is a theistic venture in that it spouts beliefs that are one with a particular philosophy. True atheism, then, leads to the deepest of spiritual or religious revelations by ridding one's self of divisive systems of thought.
Deep spirituality involves letting go of belief and becoming empty. In meditation you can experience this. Once you become as void as you were when you were not, you will find yourself as embracing all.
A fetus or a newborn baby knows this. In fact, there is no differentiation from the infant and his mother both in terms of his biological mother and all of Nature. As some infant scholars comment, a baby often sees Self as one with Mother and with the entire world.
So, do we return to that primal state of unity and prosperity or do we continue to divide and conquer.
