There is none. The universe is a function of our perceptions be we human, mouse or fly. Our perceptions in turn are defined by the dominant culture that includes the educational system, media, school, etc.

Ultimately, we are all co-creators, both women and men. There is no God "out there" running the show nor is it we that are running the show. The show we see is the result of everything. We operate more like a jam session than a well-rehearsed orchestra.

Rob is on target with his "bottom up" governance. Its how Nature operates.

Consider the process of conception. A fetus came to be due to several factors including the mom's and dad's moods on the evening or morning a baby was conceived, the versatility of the sperm and where the egg that became us was in relationship to our mother's menstrual cycle. In essence, the menstrual cycle is one with the lunar cycles, which are of a 28-day period.

Thus, the moon is a participant on whether or not a conception takes place. And if dad were a farmer and his crops were wiped out, would he be in the mood for love- making regardless of his testosterone levels? Probably not. He may be more likely to yell at the dog or put his fist through the windshield of his car. Pleasing his wife may not be his priority.

Once sperm and egg unite, the baby builds his or her own body. And, it does so via an interaction of the various cells with each other. So, a liver cell became a liver cell in relationship to what was needed in the entire body of the developing embryo. That liver cell has within it the knowledge for being any cell in the body. Yet, it became a liver cell due to the needs of the whole body.

In Lovelock's Gaia Hypothesis, the same is true of the planetary systems that we rely on to breath and function. Everything is involved in the creation of the atmosphere. Thus we breathe in oxygen and breathe out carbon dioxide while plants and trees do the opposite. We are not kingpins of the system but are cells within it.

Ponder on that for a while as we continue to go after the "isms" that have us in such a mess that includes a probable mass extinction.
