You can find the labyrinth garden here. It's best on a computer, laptop, or tablet, but there is a version for smart phones, too.

MAB: This is so exciting! I imagine there is likely to be quite a few visitors to Topia on World Labyrinth Day! Is there anything you'd like to add as we wrap this up, such as the role of labyrinths in your life, and/or a special experience? Or anything else?

BL: I love how labyrinths have become more recognized in today's culture. We all need time to experience personal reflection and for connecting with our spiritual nature. Walking labyrinths together is a wonderful way to strengthen family and community ties. Labyrinths can hold space for your inner self, and help you hold space for others. My advice to readers is: go find a labyrinth to walk, you'll be glad you did!

MAB: That's great advice, thanks for visiting with OpEdNews, Beth!

BL: This was fun, Meryl Ann, thank you for inviting me!

MORE ABOUT TOPIA

A few helpful hints about Topia:

  1. To use Topia on a computer, a camera and microphone are needed, although you are able to mute or stop the camera as desired.
  2. To use Topia on a smart phone you will only need its microphone. Your phone will ask permission to access the mic. The screen you will use on a phone of course is smaller, so you won't be able to see as much at a time as you would from a desktop or laptop. You will not be able to hear the background sounds, but you can interact with others and explore the world.
  3. As if you are in a large open space, you will only hear others when their Topi is close to your Topi. The pictures from the cameras will fade in as you get closer to others and fade out as you move away.
  4. Depending on your device, you can zoom in to see things on a larger scale, or zoom out to see more of the world. You can also use arrow keys to move.
  5. On phones, you simply tap the screen where you want to go. On computers you can also click the cursor where you want to go.
  6. Both the Labyrinth Meditation Garden and the TLS Topia worlds have portals that link them to one another. Find the portal and click it and then choose "Let's go!"
  7. Your Topi can sit down, dance, ride a bike, and send a heart.
  8. If you ever see someone sitting down and they look like they have on headphones, that means they have multiple tabs open, and they aren't looking at the Topia tab/screen at that moment. Go close to them and say something. They may answer right back!

If you need more help with Topia, these two links might be useful:

The Labyrinth Society's Global Group on Facebook has almost 17,000 members!

The Topia Labyrinth Garden could become a hangout for people looking to connect with others from the Global Group, or anyone not on Facebook, to chat with, share ideas, and just enjoy getting to meet more like-minded labyrinth walkers, designers, builders, facilitators, and make friends!

Next time you want to have an online meeting of a few people (you can only hear the ten closest people) think about coming to the Garden. Pack a picnic, fix a cup of tea, or just come to listen to the birdsong all by yourself.

There's only one thing left you need to know right now. How do you get there? Easy - follow this link:

We hope to see you soon!
