Laws that do either or both of these should be rendered unconstitutional under the 13th Amendment.
The right of an individual woman to control the course of her own pregnancy, or to terminate it before viability if it is in her own best medical, mental, or family's interest to do so, is a very basic issue that has the potential to directly impact half the population of the United States.
I would urge all Supreme Court Justices to reinforce the concepts of the separation of church and state, along with those of life, liberty and equal protection, and to support all women in their freedom to make personal and private decisions around their own pregnancies and religious beliefs.
