And it can't help that -- ironically -- the Chinese seem to do capitalism better than we do, and prove that it works quite effectively with totalitarianism. Hmph, who'd a-thunk it? Who knows but maybe the Dragonfly search engine Google was developing for China -- the one that removed all references to dissident concerns (freedom, junk-in-the-trunk, etc.) -- was really a field test to be brought back home and used on us, once the kinks were worked on the Chinese people.
Ordinarily, I'd be surprised that the MSM and political rivals to the Republicans and Trump made no effort whatsoever to further delve into the US tax-payer funding of the Wuhan lab gain-of-function research. After all, imagine the sh*t that might have come down had the Press connected up the re-start of gain-of-function research, under Trump, with that Fauci funding to the Wuhan lab, where the sh*t seems to have come home to fire roost anyway. The hysteria that could have been stirred up against Trump had he and his administration been so connected by the MSM might actually have been enough to get him tossed out of office in 2020. As the murderer James Risen said he was. And the worst criminal in history, according to Noam Chomsky. Sigh.
But, as I reported earlier, the US government is deeply involved in Synthetic Biology projects -- busy creating monster bacteria and viruses, by their own admission -- in order, they claim, to be ready should other nation-states decide to develop bio-weapons to destroy us (and our way of life, natch). Consequently, research, such as gain-of-function, arguably can keep us 'ahead of the game' by allowing our scientists to develop the most virile bio-weapons imaginable -- in order to be ready with an antidote and/or vaccine should we be so attacked. This SynBio research, too, came to the fore under Trump. Sad, really, that we've come this far, and just can't seem to stop ourselves from finding new ways to wipe ourselves from the face of the planet.
The other angle, of course, is Money. The military, using taxpayer dollars, without taxpayer feedback (or even knowledge, since the MSM is indifferent) conducts the potentially catastrophic research. But Big Pharma is partnered with the military to create "warp speed" vaccines, in a process only possible by means of f*ck-with research, like gain-of-function. This helps to explain how so many Big Pharma companies suddenly came up with vaccines almost simultaneously -- once Trump was elected out of office. Why, I can still recall the MSM casting aspersions of Operation Warp Speed here and noting how no vaccine had ever been created in less than two years. One notes how they have so readily come around to the miracle of the military's research and partnership with Big Pharma.
One also notes, how one of the first vaccines out the door was Russia'sSputnik-V vaccine. Sputnik -- get it? Oh, the games we people play. Well, as they say, what goes around comes around.
