And Trump is, one minute, serving up devil's food cake to Xi at Mar-a-Lago, while hoarsely whispering how he was missilefying Syrian sand monsters that very moment, and the next minute he's all China-baiting, as if they'd given us Oxycontin War. Xi could see right through his chaos and smiled to think how lucky to have Trump in the Year of the Fire Rooster. (Which gets us back to herpes.) China hates chaos and disorder, and Xi must have thought he was hallucinating, Chinese fireworks style, to be in the humble presence of the bumbling over-the-top president of the tumbling over-the-top American people. New Silk Road, here we come. 'And if Tlump win le-election, goodbye grobar dorral standald,' he is said to have thought, according to highly placed anonymous XKeyscore sauces. Alas, electoral corruption (we counted all the votes this time -- the rot has gotten that bad) prevented the collapse of the dollar.

Now Dr. WHO has gone back to Wuhaan to investigate the source of the escapee Virus Of War (VOW). The wet market up the road from the Wuhan Lab that the bat-sh*t crazy virus (beaten half-to-death with gain-of-function, gloves off, torture, way past the point of poetic utterance) seemingly escaped and went on a nutty feeding frenzy, like the lugubrious Bela Lugosi Dracula, vamping up half the world before some buff Big Pharma slayer could put a stake in the mofo's undead heart with a wooden vaccine. Now we just gotta worry about who Dracula might have one-night fanged. Which is what we got Contact Tracers for. So follow their instructions when they call. (But be careful -- I've heard that some of them think they got hired as skip tracers: different vampyr. Shhh.)

Back to Wuhaan. Here's what we know. In 2014, under Obama, a serious incident of exposure to anthrax occurred, putting 35 scientists at risk. When it became clear that the gain-of-function research involved with that anthrax could not be safely conducted with guarantees, and the attendant risk to the US population became untenable, funding for the research was shut down, effectively ending gain-of-function research in America.

Dr. Anthony Fauci was there for that research, and later supported the moratorium -- on US soil. More recently, in 2019, under the Trump administration, gain-of-function research funding began again. We've learned that Fauci arranged for funding to go to the Wuhan lab in question, with some of those monies earmarked for gain-of-function research, a specialty of that lab. At the time, the lab was waterboarding bat sh*t viruses to tease out lethality. In short, America seems to have passed the risk of an outbreak onto the Chinese lab.

It didn't take long for the US Embassy, after visits to the lab, to become aware that the research being done appeared to be lacking in its safety standards. This was reported back to the US State department. By the fall of 2019, it became clear that an outbreak had occurred, and by December could be a pandemic-strength virus. At first, it was blamed on the wilds of the wet market down the road, the poor pangolin taking a bum rap. But the bat sh*t could be smelled all the way from hell. In any case, it's true that China was slow to admit the outbreak.

The American MSM was too busy keying-in on Trump's pointless impeachment (he was never going to be convicted in the Republican-led Senate, and the charges were technically valid but politically inane) to pay attention to the signs and worries overseas. By the time the super-spreader Super Bowl was held in early February, Covid-19 had already spread to 23 countries, and had already been reported in the US. Then we learned some members of Congress were cashing in as Corona spread in the US and the Ka-Ching monster raised its ugly head.

Does that mean the Chinese did what Giuliani said they did -- intentionally created the pandemic, making the Chinese mass murderers?

Of course not. But it's possible that just as some angry, fucked-with anthrax accidently got loose in a US lab back in 2014, even under relatively tight safety protocols, that Corona got loose in Wuhan. By accident.

Why blame the Chinese? Who knows? Maybe we hate Asians? And when they deal with us, they feel disoriented. According to Daniel Ellsberg, in his recent book Doomsday Machine, Ike forged the truce in Korea by forcing the North to kow-tow under the threat of being nuked. Nixon wanted to nuke the North Vietnamese in a war the US had already acknowledged it couldn't win (Pentagon Papers). Trump, before he sweetened on the boy, offered to send Rocket Man and his North Korean culture back to the primordial soup. And, of course, we famously double-tapped the Japs at Hiroshima, then Nagasaki.
