Trump did escape accountability for what he did in 2016, but the Ukraine scandal shows that he has been on a spree. He became president in part because of foreign interference he encouraged. As president, he sought additional intervention from overseas to boost his reelection prospects. It's a straight line, and his critics are right to wonder what Trump -- if (or when) he survives impeachment -- might try to pull next to hold on to the presidency.
