Such a revolution would confront a landscape in which terrible damage will have been done by this system. It will not be a question of a few touches here and there and then it's all good--this will require a monumental effort from humanity to struggle and work its way back to a livable planet. But social relations between people ruled by "profit over all" and "expand or die" will no longer straitjacket humanity, the scientific method and creative spirit could be unleashed and applied on a whole other level, and that could make all the difference.
