The Inquisition. The Crusades. The ruthless subjugation of indigenous people throughout the western hemisphere. The hatred of women. The violence, the brutality, the arrogance, the non-stop terror to impose Neo-Catholic fairy tales. This is a fraudulent, criminal organization whose influence for evil continues to infect us to this day.
There's Dylan Roof, whose racist views were nurtured by his christian faith, walking boldly into a Charleston, South Carolina church and murdering 9 innocent people. The purpose, he wrote, was to "reform American Christianity" from "this weak cowardly religion" to "a warrior's religion." Christ could not have said it better.
There's Anders Breivik, who murdered 77 people, mostly children, in order to start a war that would reconcile all christian denominations under the banner of the "Catholic Church." In case the slaughter wasn't enough, in case the general public didn't get the message, Breivik wrote a 1,500 page manifesto making it clear he saw himself as a dedicated christian soldier killing infidels for Christ.
There's "terrorist" Brenton Tarrant, who was tired of brown-skinned "foreigners" invading white countries and replacing white christians, so he shot up two Mosques, murdering 51 Muslims while they worshipped. Like Anders Breivik, Tarrant also penned a lengthy manifesto laying out in great detail his iron-bound faith in white supremacy, which, to white supremacists, is code for christian domination.
More recently, there's Matthew Murphy III, the Neo-Catholic judge presiding over a rape case, in which the rapist, Christopher Belter, admitted to the crimes and subsequently pled guilty in court. Yet, instead of sending Belter to prison, which was required by NY state law, Judge Murphy sentenced him to "probation." No jail time. For raping four underage girls. The judge admitted he struggled with sentencing. But he resolved the problem, he told the court, not by following existing law, or by adhering to legal precedent, or simple common sense. Instead, he "prayed." So ----- a white male Neo-Catholic judge prays to his white male god, and his white male god tells the white male Neo-Catholic judge to ignore secular law and let the white male serial rapist go free. Justice in service to a higher cause. You were warned.
Which brings us to the current situation regarding women's reproductive rights and the US Supreme Court. The reason it's important to remember the actual history of the Neo-Catholic church, some of it listed above, is because it provides a useful context for understanding the church's determination to overthrow all aspects of secular society, in this case, through a court of law that embraces religious extremism.
It's important to know that six of the current justices are christian fanatics, five of whom are devout Neo-Catholics. All six are guided by the same sacred militance that guided Pius and Innocent and Bernard Law. The court's first handmaiden, Amy "Offred" Barrett, said it best: "Always keep in mind that [a] legal career is but a means to an end and . . . that end is building the kingdom of God."
Got that?
A member of the US Supreme Court is telling the American people that her role, and by extension the role of the court, is not to govern according to the laws that underpin a democratic society, but to impose religious conformity in service to a celestial dictator.
Think it over, indeed. A majority of the judges who sit on the US Supreme Court believe Iron Age bedtime stories should steer the ship of state, and they're willing to do anything to make it happen. Neo-Catholics aren't burning heretics at the stake anymore. But don't be fooled. They're still in the business of killing non-believers. They've just gotten more creative, as with Savita Halappanavar, the 31 year-old dentist who died because the church denied her an abortion. This is slavery, not individual liberty. Controlling a woman's body has always been part of the plan.
By the bye, in case you were born Jewish or Muslim or Protestant, or female, and the Neo-Catholics do seize control of gov't, you'll be faced with two choices. Either prepare for the worst, or cross over to the dark side. "I need one or two horns," Berenger cried. "Then I could join them."
Speaking of the dark side, here's a thought.
Imagine if the big guy had popped a few Neo-Catholics into the Garden from the very beginning. Hid them behind the bower wall or dressed them in camouflage or something. Then, whenever Eve got prickly, say, once a month, they could jump out and grab hold of her vagina before it got free. Before the temptation. Before consorting with Satan. Before the Fall.
Imagine where we'd be. Paradise, right?
