This interview revealed that Turkey strengthens its soft power on the Syrian stage, having been tired of fighting against the Kurdish resistance and permanent charges of the West of the genocide. If Ankara manages to widespread this political movement and unite the part of Kurds under the wing of the 'Hawks', Turks may trigger a war between them.

Such a scenario is extremely plausible because the Syrian Democratic Forces are the main enemies of Turkey in Syria. This concept can bring profit to Ankara: Kurds will begin to kill themselves that will allow Turkey to keep both money and soldiers' lives, and also to avoid the charges of a genocide. Also, it is worth mentioning that the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has recently declared his ambition to ' manage' oil fields in Deir ez- Zor in place of the US and Kurds.

Erdogan's trick may allow to establish a loyal Kurdish political organization spreading narratives about a positive and peaceful policy of Ankara concerning the Kurdish issue, along with making them fight each other and acquiring oil in a favor of Turkey.

It is also necessary to understand that this Erdogan's plan directly affects the US geopolitical, military and economic interests in Syria. Attempts of Ankara to seize the initiative and create an alternative Kurdish authorities and armed factions, and also to establish control over the oil facilities with no doubts will lead to raising tensions between Ankara and Washington. The White House may consider such steps as a defiance from Erdogan.

Keeping in mind a difficult background of the relations between these countries in the context of 'safe-zones' in northern Syria, the US-based cleric Fethullah Gulen and purchase of the Russian S-400 missile systems, the Turkish attempts to pit Kurds against each other will lead to a new crisis between Washington and Ankara.

As it stands today, nobody knows the result of this competition between the US and Turkey, but it is obvious that Kurds stuck between a Turkish rock and an American hard place. In this regard cooperation between Kurds and Damascus does not look a bad idea to keep the Kurdish identity and autonomy.
