Interview with a Professor of Journalism: What Have We Here Today?

by John Kendall Hawkins

Hi D -

Glad to know you're still alive and kicking. I recall all those years ago reading your work regularly in the P-, while I was an undergrad at UMass (Boston). I'm a freelance journalist currently residing in Oceania. My poetry, commentary, features and reviews have appeared in publications around the world. I'm a regular contributor to Counterpunch magazine and OpEd News.
.
I'd love to interview you, perhaps by Zoom. An hour? I'd like to get into your book X. I'd ask about the P- days and neighborhood newspapers and PIRGs. I'd ask about the bidding war for WaPo that took place between Bezos and Omidyar (the latter settling for the Intercept) and the implications. I'd recall the Paul Revere and his newspaper days and how he framed the Boston Massacre. And stuff like that. I hope you're interested and have the time.

Regards,

J

J,

Yes, sure, we can....Email questions would be good if you don't mind.
