I received my MD from the University of Buenos Aires and a PhD in Sociology at the University of California. I am Associate Professor of Health Policy and Global Health at York University in Canada, past US Fulbright Scholar, past Graduate Program Director in Health, and current Special Advisor to the Dean of the Faculty of Health in Curriculum Internationalization. I work in the tradition of Marxist critical social, health, and policy studies. Current projects include the geopolitics of Anti-Asian racism during Covid-19, the politics of sanctions policy, and medicalization and social control in the Covid-19 pandemic. I am editorial board member and reviewer in leading refereed journals in my areas of expertise, have published widely, and I am currently volunteering with organizations working against the regulatory capture of public health agencies and professional colleges, or are involved in antiwar, anti-colonial and anti-imperialist struggles.
