Some cops in Portland, Oregon knelt in solidarity with protesters, a huge step in the right direction

The police killing of George Floyd last Monday in Minneapolis has escalated in protests and violence occurring nationwide. There's even been protests in London and Berlin in solidarity with those in the US.

Trump of course has been twittering away condemning the protesters threatening to send in US troops if the states governors don't act to crush the protests. His threats are tantamount to throwing gasoline on a fire.

The violence in the cities, quite possibly incited further by agent-provocateurs, certainly shouldn't be condoned.

However, the vocal protests in the streets all over America are understandable considering police killing of minorities happens all over the country. In most instances the cops are completely exonerated for the crimes they committed.

So when people see there is no justice the only avenue left for them is to hit the streets. And boy have they ever. In the streets by the thousands.

Summer has just started with government officials having kept people locked up with stay at orders over the coronavirus. People were itching to get outside anyway. Couple that urge with the video of what the cops did to Floyd and it's become explosive.

The police profiling and targeting black and brown people in their communities is intolerable cruelty. That must to be seen as such and condemned by all people.

Interestingly, some cops in Portland, Oregon knelt in solidarity with the protesters which was acknowledged by them. Such a visible display would be huge step in the right direction if cops did that nationwide.

The cops must know the behavior of some of their brethren makes all cops appear guilty if they remain silent. Police silence is their complicity.

All cops aren't sadists but they know those who are within their midst. The sadists have to be purged.

Cops patrolling in minority communities could be seen as serving and protecting the public ONLY when justice is served. The perpetrators committing sadistic violence on people must be held accountable and convicted when they commit a crime.

Either justice is served or there is going to be hell to pay.
