Online forum participants discussed how "Early voting machine vendors hired programmers with criminal records, but even today vendors continue to mislead the public about the security and reliability of their voting equipment," according to information provided by Jamie Friend, of Citizens Audit Broward.
Citizens Audit is a nonprofit, nonpartisan group that audited the March presidential primary contest and the August primary in Broward County, Fl. The organization will also audit the November General Election with the help of an "Actual Vote" app created by Democracy Counts, a nonprofit tech startup company.
Understanding machine vendor backgrounds helps citizens get a better idea of why numerous voting jurisdictions are experiencing problems with voting equipment now, an online notice about the forum said.

Organizers also worked on adding a Facebook LiveStream.
Breakout groups were scheduled from 8 - 8:30pm ET after the forum. Breakout groups are small zoom gatherings to help you connect with people in your region, or a region you want to help.
