David Stockman, a Libertarian, was the former Director of United States Office of Management and Budget under Reagan. He is the author of The Triumph of Politics: Why the Reagan Administration Failed and of The Great Deformation: The Corruption of Capitalism in America. Here is a quote from the latter book, compliments to Wikipedia: "The Republican Party was hijacked by modern imperialists during the Reagan era. As a consequence, the conservative party cannot perform its natural function as watchdog of the public purse because it is constantly seeking legislative action to provision a vast war machine of invasion and occupation."

Many Leftists are rightfully concerned about the current rise of American Fascism because of Donald Trump. Stockman, however, in the following article in which he gives us a historical summary of US foreign and fiscal policies, seems to express that some good things might happen if Trump becomes president. The article has already appeared at several conservative and liberal websites, based on my google search. The article first appeared at The Daily Reckoning on March 3. The title of David Stockman's article is "The Trumpster Sends the GOP/Neocon Establishment to the Dumpster. Reading this article explains why the United States is in the mess it's in. Let's hope and pray that Bernie Sanders wins the Democratic nomination. But after reading this article it seems that Donald Trump for president might not be as bad as getting Hilary Clinton. Noam Chomsky, however, has indicated that getting Hilary would be better than getting Trump.
