It goes without saying that you must be fluent
in your clients' language--which is not your own--
so you can share what you see and know.
Of course you can spot birds and animals
often from great distances
and give species, sex, age, habits, calls.
Be adept at mimicking
to be clear which birdsong you hope folks hear
and to prompt that call again
as you open a guidebook to the exact page
which offers portraits of this bird.
Offer up insects, plants. Who eats what.
Which are poisonous.
