Day702/Jan26th/Wednesday: The President traveled to Manitowoc, Wisconsin, where he toured and delivered remarks on the U.S. economy at Orion Energy Systems, a power technology company that designs, manufactures and deploys energy efficiency and renewable energy technology for commercial and industrial business. The President toured Skana Aluminum Company, an aluminum manufacturer and rolling mill and Tower Tech Systems, a wind turbine tower manufacturer, both in Manitowoc, Wisconsin.
The President declared a major disaster existed in the State of California and ordered Federal aid to supplement State, Tribal, and local recovery efforts in the area struck by severe winter storms, flooding, and debris and mud flows during the period of December 17, 2010, to January 4, 2011. Federal funding was made available to State, Tribal, and eligible local governments and certain private nonprofit organizations on a cost-sharing basis for emergency work and the repair or replacement of facilities damaged by the severe winter storms, flooding, and debris and mud flows in the counties of Inyo, Kern, Kings, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, and Tulare. Federal funding was also made available on a cost-sharing basis for hazard mitigation measures statewide. Source
