Several years ago I wrote about the Venezuelan government selling passports to potential Islamic terrorists in Bagdhad. The arch quasi-villain in all of that was the angry Venezuelan foreign minister at that time, Delcy Rodriguez, who is now Vice President of Venezuela. I clearly remember a news video clip of her threatening a CNN journalist at the United Nations to keep his nose out of such concerns about selling passports, but I was unable to find the link to that clip in my preparation for this article.
Essentially, the long investigation proved that if you were Ahmed Hussein and brought $13000 cash to the front door of the Venezuelan Embassy in Baghdad, you would be able to walk out the side door with a passport proclaiming that you were Jose Salazar of Caracas.
