Never use a word in front of a fellow-scholar that you wouldn't dare you use in front of your own mother.
Or indeed your grandfather, a clergy person, or anyone else that you would consider "polite company."
Look, it's just a bit of specialist vocab.
It's not like I'm po-faced about it.
Critique should be fun!
It can indeed be fun; but behind the irony, wit and "acceptable flippancy," other things are happening.
Wombs are being cut open; the wombs of women.
Hospitals and schools are being bombed.
The hospitals and schools where real, concrete, flesh-and-blood human beings live.
Or, "hombres de carne y hueso," as you yourself have so often put it.
But I'm against all of these things!
When have you ever heard me advocate eugenics, warmongering, persecution of gay people, patriotic anti-Muslim sentiment, mainstream anti-Semitism, acceptable rape culture, a Soviet command economy, sub-Soviet economic sanctions, the use of "human rights" as an inhumane diplomatic weapon...
