The President:
Interviewer: you have stated that, "There are no words that excuse the killing of innocents." What exactly do you mean by that? Are you talking about innocents of every country in the world or only those innocents who were killed in the attacks on the U.S. embassy in Libya and the people of Israel who have been attacked by Hamas rockets? Again, is there some kind of double standard at work here?
The President:
Interviewer: in conclusion, based upon these questions and your answers how can you possibly accept, condone and justify the continuing drone attacks on the aforementioned four countries and the deaths of innocent civilians? Secondly if "Israel has every right to defend itself from Gaza missile attacks" then please explain to the American people why the people of Afghanistan, Pakistan, Yemen and Somalia do not have the very same rights under international law and the UN Charter?
The President:
The president's convoluted statements involve serious moral issues of the highest degree; statements that, if taken literally, would indicate that he believes that the protection of the human rights of people of various nations can be modified according to the judgments of those like himself, depending upon their personal interpretation of a given situation. Those statements should be very troubling to millions of people in many nations and certainly to the people of America.
It is time that President Obama is asked to clarify the meaning and intent of his statements and, further, is asked if he fully comprehends the gravity and implications of his words relative to the human rights of all the people who inhabit this planet.
