Only after this meeting did the truth start coming out that among Patrick and Andre's killers were the very Iraqi soldiers whom they had trained and were several yards behind them as their trained backup support.
Today Nadia, like Mrs. Tillman and so many Gold Star Moms, has many unanswered and serious questions.
Why did it take two years to get a report?
Why did the government hide the truth that Iraqi trainees had killed American soldiers?
How many times had Iraqi trainees killed other American soldiers?
Why weren't all the soldiers in Patrick's unit asked probing questions about the deaths of Patrick and Andre?
Why was a National Guard unit of engineers so deeply involved in combat?
Was air support called off that day? If so, why?
Why were Alpha Company asked to go through BakrVillage for the Second Time?
Why didn't the original autopsy indicate that Patrick was hit from three different directions with eight gaping 3" holes severing his cheap Kevlar vest and the radio gear on his back, -- ripping his back, lungs, liver, lower intestine and groin?
Why wasn't something not done about the blue Van in Bakr, which the soldiers recognized as an insurgent's carrier?
Why did the van immediately speed off after the shooting?
Who drove the brown BMW with tinted glass that also sped away after the shooting?
Patrick and Andre were integral parts of Task Force Tacoma, which was tasked with capturing insurgents. When did the Army know that their deaths were acts of terrorism?
Wars don't make heroes
Wars don't usually answer questions or quell hatreds. They usually produce more complex questions and ignite more hidden hatreds.
