Since January of 2008, BP lobbyists have spent $30 million to influence legislation, according to the Center for Responsive Politics.
BP and other oil companies gave Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour (R) $1.8 million dollars for his campaign, and since the spill, he's been aggressively downplaying the disaster and encouraging people to visit his state's beaches before they are all ruined by oil. Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell (R) traveled to a BP-funded conference in Houston last month "to lobby aggressively to drill for oil and natural gas without delay." Meanwhile, Texas Gov. Rick Perry (R) dismissed potential BP negligence by calling the spill an "act of God" at a trade association funded by BP in May.

Steel melted and then boiled in the twin towers of the WorldTradeCenter. But what caused it to boil if not burning thermite? And who planted the thermite?
Let me explain. Deutsche Bank, which had a building close to the WorldTradeCenter that had been contaminated with dust, hired the RJ Lee Group, a scientific research organization, to prove to its insurance company that the dust contaminating its building was not ordinary building dust, as its insurance company claimed, but had resulted from the destruction of the WorldTradeCenter. Reports issued by the RJ Lee Group in 2003 and 2004 proved that the dust was indeed WTC dust, having its unique chemical signature. Part of this signature, the RJ Lee Group said in its final (2004) report, was extremely tiny "[s]pherical iron . . . particles," present in the dust. And this meant, as pointed out in its 2003 report, that iron (the main component of steel beams) had "boiled during the WTC Event, producing spherical metallic particles." Nothing other than boiling iron could produce these tiny spherical particles.
Office fires, even when fueled by jet fuel or diesel, never get above 2500 degrees F. However, iron does not melt (and certainly does not boil) prior to reaching a temperature that is well in excess of 5000 degrees F. So what increased temperatures that high inside the three WTC buildings that ultimately collapsed at near freefall rates of acceleration?
