Nothing but lies from every "expert" and from our worthless elected officials in both parties.
We are headed for an economic disaster and few public figures except for the likes of economists Nouriel Roubini, Dean Baker, Ravi Batra, and radio talk show hostThom Hartmannwill tell people the truth. Retirement plans shredded, 401K's gone, pension funds with no money to pay out. Nazi minister Goebbels would be proud of the clever propaganda fed to the fools every damn day. The "recovery" was just a trillion dollars more debt to try to hide the mess until the elections, but we never even made it that far.
A decade of serious pain is coming, during which time the Fed bankers and all the incumbents who betrayed us must be voted out. In the mean time, welcome to third-world America.

Another way that the oligarchy fleeces us is through the legal bribery and coercion in politics that comes by way of massive political campaign contributions and expensive political attack ads on TV. Campaign contributors are able to donate tens of thousands of dollars as a kind of very profitable investment, and get millions of dollars back in returns, by way of earmarks. Play ball with the big boys and your political career is secure. Cross them and your career will be destroyed by very expensive political attack ads on TV.
House and Senate lawmakers have received nearly $2 million in campaign contributions this election cycle from organizations for which they had sponsored earmarks. Over half of the members of the House and Senate accepted money for the November elections from recipients of their earmarks. In total, lawmakers spent $15.9 billion on earmarks in the current fiscal year.
Earmarks, which direct spending to specific recipients, have become a political issue as the federal deficit has ballooned. Critics charge that the spending is directed to lawmakers' pet projects, bypassing competitive bidding and other fairness safeguards. The report also found $269 million in lobbying last year by earmark recipients. (Corrupt) Sen. Daniel Inouye (D-Hawaii), chairman of the Appropriations Committee, was the top recipient of money overall with $140,700 in contributions from beneficiaries of his earmarks. Spokesmen for Corrupt Inouye did not immediately return a request for comment. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/06/03/AR2010060302768.html
Halliburton's campaign donations have spiked as it tries to curry favor with key members of Congress investigating the oil spill disaster in the Gulf of Mexico.
