Current information (statistical facts) concerning the power-corruption of the oligarchs and their political/managerial flunkies can easily make an intellectual case for revolution in the US. This has actually been true for a long time now. Intelligent and passionate people have been making the case for a second revolution in the US since the late 19th century when the oligarchs had succeeded in giving social-contract property rights complete systemic legal dominance over 'inalienable' individual rights. But a genuine permanent revolution for the better will never come to the US merely because of information.
The purpose of information disseminated by people who consider themselves progressive is to allow the 'average' people to see the extent to which they are manipulated and exploited by the oligarchs and their flunkies. But the 'average' citizen of the US is not intellectually oriented or culturally conditioned for self-sacrifice. The reason that capitalist advertising (propaganda) is so powerfully and hypnotically impacting on the lower and middle class is because the consciousness there has been conditioned to see existence itself in terms of immediate or near-future gratification and to see gratification in terms of self-centering. All reality becomes ultimately defined by the desires of the oligarchs imposed on the lower people by intimidation and even terror. The oligarch is the expert at exploiting fear. What this finally means is that you can give people more information concerning oligarch corruption than they can possibly even absorb and if it does not override the fear they feel before the power of the oligarch then that information will go nowhere except into creating a radically deep pessimism and a panic clinging to some form of immediate stability or a wild desperate explosion into chaos. It will certainly not lead to revolution in any meaningful sense.
What people primarily need is not detailed information concerning how the oligarchs screw them. Their ordinary daily lives supply them with all the information they need if they can overcome their fear enough to process this constant flow of information. What people primarily need is to overcome the fear that makes them so vulnerable to the oligarchic agenda.
You can take a poor person and make that person a financially rich person and if that now rich person is still carrying the primal fear of reality then that once poor and exploited person will become a tyrant to whatever degree is possible in order to keep the continuing fear away from consciousness.
There will be no real revolution until humanity begins to seriously address its fear of reality. Anything else is evasion and will not lead to any lasting positive change.
A society of people who have overcome their basic fear of reality cannot be exploited by oligarchs and will in fact prevent oligarchs from even coming into existence.
