We were told by our government it doesn't resort to torture. Well videos taken at Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq revealed we did torture those in our custody.

Going back to the 1960's how about the Gulf of Tonkin incident in 1964. That incident was the basis for Congress to authorize the Gulf of Tonkin resolution which gave then President Lyndon Johnson the authority to escalate the Vietnam war in 1965. We've subsequently learned it was false flag incident that was precipitated by the CIA initiating the shelling against North Vietnamese naval vessels in the Gulf who then retaliated. Of course it was presented the other way around; a lie that unnecessarily killed some 50,000 American troops and over a million Vietnamese people.

So we know our government and its handmaiden MSM lie to the American people.

Yet in this time of the COVID-19 pandemic people who would normally be skeptical of all governmental pronouncements seemingly believe everything they are being told by government "authorities" and the MSM is the unadulterated truth. Why?

Why at least no skepticism of those we know lie us? Beginning in March we were told millions could die if we didn't take precautions-an absolute exaggeration. All large public gatherings were suspended, all pro and college sports leagues shut down, all businesses closed except those considered essential. Even church services were suspended.

Of course massive unemployment resulted over night but we were told it was necessary. Mask wearing and social distancing were ordered based on no scientifically proven protocols just whatever governmental authority considered as necessary which in turn precipitated a conformist bandwagon effect all over the country though sporadic and inconsistent.

Yes people died from the virus, particularly those who were old with pre-existing conditions, asthma, diabetes, other lung related illnesses, heart disease and the like. Young children were mostly immune yet the schools were closed and virtual learning at home became the norm. Why?

Now with new year we're told of a second wave even a new strain of the virus.

It feels like we're back in March. New cases rising every day, more deaths, though vaccines approved by the FDA have been approved and starting to be administered.

The new mantra; take the jabs in order to end the pandemic.

In its wake scores of small businesses have shut their doors, many presumed permanently. Unemployment has skyrocketed to 1930's depression numbers. Though the moratorium on evictions has been extended to the end of January what happens after that when millions will be unable to pay their rent?

In the midst of the pandemic we had a presidential election in November presumably won by Joe Biden over Trump. Though the latter has not conceded, he's initiated law suits in swing states on grounds of voter fraud-which all have been shot down. Even the Supreme Court deemed not to consider the matter.

Today there's a runoff election for two senators in Georgia which will decide the majority in the senate. Then tomorrow with Vice President Mike Pence presiding the senate is authorized to recognize the electoral college results in all 50 states confirming Biden as the new president.

Yet Trump has told Pence to challenge the results in the swing states, particularly Wisconsin, thus further political intrigue may be in the offing if Pence were to hold up the senate recognizing the electoral college results.

Meanwhile Trump through his tweets continues to incite his followers to protest and reject the election results.

The country is in a different place politically than it was in 2000 when the Supreme Court intervened and gave the election to Dubya. Though many people objected to SCOTUS suspect intervention back then there was no potential for violence in the country.
