But just why does "official" Washington need to deny its involvement in Kazakhstan? It's half way around the world. Most Americans are probably unaware it even exists much less being able to find it on a map.
People protest all over the world mostly on domestic issues affecting them. Most demonstrations are peaceful with people having legitimate gripes usually against the government in power.
Yet there is a gnawing sense here Washington may very well be involved in Kazakhstan's protests simply because we've done so many times before.
Using agent-provocateurs has been in the CIA playbook at least since its involvement in the coup in Iran in 1953 helping to unseat the legitimately elected government.
Most recently the coup in Kiev, Ukraine in February 2014 helping to unseat the legitimately elected government of President Viktor Yanukovych. In Kazakhstan with Russian peacekeepers now on the ground its highly unlikely any coup or unseating of the government will happen.
