"Traitor Joy" (aka Joy Reid). Don't shop at Traitor Joy's if you're looking for hate-free commentary. She's a mouthpiece for state propaganda, a paid employee on what Bruce Dixon called the "Comcast-MSNBC plantation." To her eternal shame, she was one of the lead voices calling for Edward Snowden's arrest and imprisoning. He's the NSA whistleblower who revealed US war crimes in the Middle East. So, naturally, Traitor Joy goes after him and completely ignores the officials actually responsible for the crimes. Vexing, I know. But try not to get too upset. From the perspective of the war machine, it makes perfect sense.

"The Pardoner" (aka William Barr). He's the architect of HW Bush's intervention to shield six Iran / Contra operatives from prosecution, each of whom could have implicated the former president. Corrupt? Of course it's corrupt. It's the Pardoner! Flash forward thirty years and nothing's changed. When executive law-breaking leads to consequences, the Pardoner is called upon to sprinkle the White House with his "unitary executive" magic dust. Watch him glide like Beelzebub from one criminal enterprise to another, advocating for deception, untroubled by custom or decency or law. Dance, America, dance!

"Mad Cow" (aka Devin Nunes). Vapid within and repugnant without. An insignificant blot on the bottom of a throw-away page. A stained caesura, bloated, partially human, barely literate. Mad Cow lies and cheats, gets caught lying and cheating and then sues two online comedians for posting parodies of him. His case is tossed. Score: Comedians 1 / Mad Cow 0. Can we get a moo?

This concludes "What's in a Name, Part II: They All Do It." As the sub-title suggests, all of the participants listed above "do it." They're not really journalists or news hosts or political representatives. They're not there to report on the facts or govern on behalf of democracy. They're actors paid to pimp lies for empire. Nothing more, nothing less. The new tags are an attempt to make that clear. Keep them close. And please, no matter what happens, do not answer the phone.
