Beyond the NPR it's actual US policies and actions that are most worrisome.

Against Russia with NATO expansion to its doorstep, placing ABM missile systems in Romania and Poland that can be recalibrated in minutes to offensive missiles, conducting war games in the Baltic countries and the Black Sea, the US placing what it calls tactical nuclear weapons on its nuclear submarines as well as the above mentioned withdrawal from nuclear arms control agreements. These are belligerent actions against Russia. In response Russian President Vladimir Putin has said if Russia is attacked on its soil it will retaliate against the aggressor. If Russia is attacked by a missile on its soil it will be interpreted as a nuclear missile-as it has no way of knowing whether its conventional or nuclear-and respond with a nuclear weapon against the aggressor.

As to China the US conducts what it calls "freedom of navigation" patrols in the South China Sea which China sees as a provocation in an area of its strategic influence. The US has even conducted war games in the South China Sea at a time China has conducted its own games. Not a day goes by Trump, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, Secretary of Defense Mark Esper isn't condemning China. Trump blaming China for the coronavirus, while Pompeo rants about China as "Communist", Chinese influence in US states and local governments and PTA meetings, ad nauseum.

To say nothing about US provocations against Iran in the Persian Gulf where two aircraft carrier groups conducting operations directly off the Iranian coast as if it were an American lake. Throw in Trump's assassination of Iran's top General Suleimani traveling in Iraq in early January, then Iran retaliating by sending highly accurate missiles attacking two American bases in Iraq as a means to demonstrate it has the capability to retaliate against an aggressor in the region if it is attacked.

The fact is Russia and China do not want war with the US. Neither does Iran.

But it is the US that initiates the provocations in particular against Russia and China, two nuclear weapons superpowers. This is insane policy that's intended for what? A nuclear war against either or both? An expectation a nuclear war can be contained or can be won?

Russia and China have renounced no first use of nuclear weapons. The US has not done so reserving the right to first use of nuclear weapons.

We are in uncharted territory where miscalculation, misinterpretation of intent, even an accident could unleash a nuclear conflagration.

This is why we are in the most dangerous times in world history.

Today there are protests and demonstrations across the country from New York City, Minneapolis, Louisville to Portland and Seattle much of it against police brutality and racist cops killing innocents. There's also been unjustified violence, looting, burning of stores even molotov cocktails thrown at cops. Yet there's been no protests against a US war against Russia, China, Iran. Why?

A Biden victory next month won't change US policy and actions toward Russia, China and Iran. Who knows he might even exacerbate provocations against them.
