Remembering Muhammad Ali's war stance and his personal sacrifices for his beliefs, we are faced with a diametrically opposed figure in Donald Trump. He would gladly sacrifice peace and the potential prosperity of this country coming out of the pandemic, for the sake of his own re-election. We are in uncharted territory with the pandemic. It could "very, very" easily surge into a new wave of devastation born of the near-sighted re-opening of shopping malls and movie theaters. That would definitely increase the pressure on one Donald Trump to come up with a new distraction, a new diversion, a new problem for us to deal with. Dangerous waters, indeed. We are also in dangerously uncharted waters with this president's inarticulate understanding of world events, strategic planning, and military consequences. "The Greatest" might see a war as just what the doctor ordered for his re-election. And this narcissist has his little fingers on some "very, very" dangerous buttons.
